This exemption has been taken away from seniors, who have been hard hit in the downturn, not just for one year, but for three years running. My budgetary priority will be to freeze the state budget, look for reducing operating expenses in every state government department, restore the homestead exemption. give back the taxes that were just raised on businesses. | |||

While it doesn't guarantee a win, candidates who are wealthy, do have a distinct advantage over another candiate who has to hussel for contributions. I would like to see some discussion on limiting the amount of dollars a candidate can give to their own campaign. | |||

| (f) I would support and work hard for an Arizona type of legislation with regards to illegal immigration. One of the most difficult immigration issues is the "anchor baby". I would create a special immigration status for the children of illegal aliens who are born in this country. If the parents are deported, the child goes with the parent, can come back legally at age 18. (c) Colorado is headed towards the legalization of marijuana. i would vigorously oppose the legalization of marijuana. See my comments on health issues. | |||

| I have walked to about 7,000 homes, talked to 2,000 voters. One person asked for increased state services for returning vets from Iraq and Afganistan. That is it!!! Based on the premise of no new state services my priorities are: 1. Freezing the budget at current levels. No new state hiring, anwhere. Match spending to revenues. 2. Keeping taxes low. 3. Repealing the recent tax hikes and restoring the senior homestaed exemption. |
